This past Saturday, Tech lost its second close game of the year, falling 14-6 to Grand Street Campus at Wang Field.
Tech fell behind 8-0 after a long first drive by Grand Street, which took up most of the first quarter. Elijah Rueda threw an interception to stop a Tech drive with the offense on the 15 yard line. However, Deon Mash broke free on a post route and had one defender bounce off of him before running for a 60 yard touchdown just before half time.
The second half was well played by both defenses until Grand Street was able to convert a QB sneak for a TD. Tech got the ball with no timeouts and close to two minutes left in the fourth quarter. Tech drove down to the 20 yard line, but Rueda was picked off to seal the game for Grand Street.
In game 3, Tech ends its opening home stand with the Adam J. Cirillo Classic vs Sheepshead Bay, Saturday September 21 at Noon, featuring a post game BBQ for parents, students and alumni. Please see the BTHS.edu website for more details.
