In a series that was renewed in 2010, the home team does not fair well when Brooklyn Tech and Jefferson step on to the field. However, it is virtually guaranteed that the game will be hard fought and close. This year’s version was no different, with Tech notching a 14-0 victory on Sunday.
Elijah Rueda started the scoring with a 20 yard TD pass to Lawrence Menyah, behind solid offensive line blocking on the play. Menyah, a 6’2″, 195 Jr., scooped up a Jefferson fumble and took it for a touchdown as well. The Tech defense got its first shutout of 2013, keeping the Jefferson offense out of the end zone on three deep drives. Linebacker Chawit Bunditwong had an interception that was returned for 75 yards.
Due to an injury to offensive tackle Danny Grushko, 6’4″ 348 tackle Aloysius Ekezie started on both offense and defense for the first time. The offense was turnover free.
On Saturday, Tech JV defeated Jefferson 18-0. Minju Kim threw his first career TD pass late in the game to Enrico Lentini. Tech JV is now 3-1.
