Now that Elijah Rueda is lost for the season with a knee injury, a combination of Junior Minju Kim, Freshman Michael Marcovici and Senior Lawrence Menyah played quarterback this past Sunday against Midwood. Along with contributions from Sophomore Paul Pianin, Senior Alpha Gamby and Senior Donovan Ortiz, they had 291 yards of offense and 18 points without their starting QB.
While Rueda was around, Tech enjoyed one of its greatest passing seasons ever. In nine regular season games, Rueda passed for nearly 1400 yards and led the PSAL with 103 completions. Tech had two of the top five WRs in NYC with Lawrence Menyah (41 Catches) and Alpha Gamby (32 Catches).
Brooklyn Tech is the #12 seed and will play at #5 seed Grand Street Campus on Saturday at Noon.
Brooklyn Tech has been the #12 seed before. In 2010, the Engineers defeated the #5 seeded Jefferson Orange Wave in the first-round of the playoffs and finished in the quarterfinals. That year, Tech had lost to Jeff 40-38 at the Tech homecoming. The second meeting was a double overtime stunner, 30-28, which many say was one the most exciting games in Tech football history.
