Brooklyn Tech College Wrap Up

Some teams with Brooklyn Tech alums had their final regular season games this past weekend, while other teams wrapped up their division games and head into the final week of the regular season next week.

Tristan Brown (TECH 2014) was back in action for the Ithaca Bombers in the annual Cortaca Jug Game. The Bombers’ led Cortland Red Dragons 20-17 before the final drive of the game. The Red Dragons were attempting a field goal to tie the game, when the snap was botched, but the holder was able to throw a 4 yard touchdown to win the game 23-20. Despite the loss, the Bombers still won the E8 and earned an automatic bid to the Division III playoffs. Ithaca will face undefeated Hobart on Saturday at Noon.

Tyler Dougherty was named to the Liberty League All-Academic team, which requires student-athletes to have at least a 3.2 GPA. Dougherty plays for RPI who defeated Union College 31-28 this weekend in the Dutchman Shoes Trophy Game. The Engineers were not offered a Division III playoff spot, but they will play in the ECAC North Atlantic Bowl on Saturday against Framingham State College. RPI finishes the season with a 6-5 overall record and 4-3 record in the Liberty League.

The Princeton Tigers, with James Gales (TECH 2013) seeing some playing time, fell to the Yale Bulldogs 44-30. The Tigers fell out of the Ivy League title race this weekend, but they still face Dartmouth this weekend in their final game of the season.

LIU-Post with Deon Mash (TECH 2014) on the roster won the NE-10 Championship game against American International College 58-25 this weekend. With the win, the Pioneers earned a bid to the Division II football playoffs. #6 seed LIU-Post heads to #3 Virginia State on November 22 for the first round of the playoffs.

Fordham University with Kyvaune Brammer (TECH 2013) on the roster had a 52-7 win over Georgetown University this week. The Rams completed their Patriot League schedule undefeated and clinched the League title outright. The Rams will finish the regular season Saturday against Army at Noon.

The Villanova Wildcats with Thomas Plonski (TECH 2013) on the roster defeated Albany 48-31 on senior night. The Wildcats finish the regular season against Delaware, Saturday at Noon.
