A delegation from Lafayette College, including school President Alison Byerly, visited Brooklyn Tech on Friday November 21st for a short breakfast and tour of the facilities. The event was put together through the work of the Brooklyn Tech Alumni Association and Tech ’44 / Lafayette ’51 alum Frank Downing.

The event coincided with Lafayette’s presence in New York City this weekend for the 150th meeting of Lafayette and Lehigh on the football field. One of the nation’s greatest rivalries, the two schools will play at Yankee Stadium on Saturday November 22nd.

The Lafayette connection with Brooklyn Tech Football goes back to 1929, when Adam Cirillo attended Lafayette and played football there. Through Cirillo’s long tenure as coach, several tech football players went on to play at Lafayette. This trend continued with Coach Joe Cuzzocrea and Jim Dibenedetto. Each coach welcomed back former Tech / Lafayette football alums such as Jonathan Starks, Jim DeVita and Horace Davis.
Coach Cuzzocrea, Pat Cuzzocrea (daughter of Coach Cirillo) and Coach DiBenedetto will all be attending the game.
