Charles Colt (Tech 2015) has been selected by the Posse Foundation to receive a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University next year. Colt, who had 6 receptions in three games before a season ending injury, had been picked for the honor after a period of several months. Colt is a four year football player at Brooklyn Tech and a pitcher in AAU baseball.
According to the Posse Foundation’s website:
The Posse Foundation has identified, recruited and trained 5,574 public high school students with extraordinary academic and leadership potential to become Posse Scholars. Since 1989, these students—many of whom might have been overlooked by traditional college selection processes—have been receiving four-year, full-tuition leadership scholarships from Posse’s partner institutions of higher education. Most important, Posse Scholars persist and graduate at a rate of 90 percent and make a visible difference on campus and throughout their professional careers.
Stewart Daniel (Tech 2014), another Tech football player, received a Posse Scholarship to Lafayette College last Winter.
Colt is the second Tech Football player so far to receive a full scholarship from the Class of 2015; Lawrence Menyah will be attending Fordham University on a full athletic scholarship.
