On the weekend of March 13th, Coach Kyle McKenna and Coach Jerome Brown were invited to spend the weekend at the University of Michigan for their annual high school coaches clinic. The clinic was the first for Michigan’s new Head Football Coach, former Stanford and San Francisco 49ers coach, Jim Harbaugh.
The Friday agenda for the clinic consisted of presentations by high school coaches, sessions with the coordinators and coaches of the University of Michigan, and a visit to the team stadium and locker rooms. Michigan Stadium, nicknamed “The Big House”, has a seating capacity of 109,901 people. The coaches also participated in a recruiting symposium which outlined the new academic requirements for NCAA bound athletes and presentations on operations management for large scale football programs.
On Saturday morning, the coaches were invited to attend a four hour spring practice/scrimmage. The practice was primarily held in the team’s 100 yard indoor facility.
