Brooklyn Tech played spoiler this week at Flushing’s Homecoming, defeating the Red Devil’s 18-6 to get a much needed win in the PSAL City Championship division. The victory puts Tech back in the playoff hunt with 4 games to go.
Amani Murphy had two rushing and one receiving touchdown and played well on defense. Turnovers, which had caused Tech to struggle as of late, came on the defensive side of the ball. The defense forced 3 turnovers and got constant pressure on the quarterback with Mahmoud Shabana, Henry Kamornik, Peter Henderson and Robert Deokinandin.
Junior Captain John Hemminger (2 catches) played well on offense and defense, with a sack and forced fumble. Sophomore Michael Marcovici picked up his first win as a starter, going 4 of 7 for 60 yards, 1 TD and and interception.
