Brooklyn Tech’s version of Friday Night Lights took place this past Friday at the Aviator Sports Complex. The result of the game was a 37-14 loss, but many of Brooklyn Tech’s young players saw valuable action. The night game was a vision into Brooklyn Tech’s future with a fully lit, new field, expected in 2016.
Sophomore Pierrot Jean-Charles, a mid-week call-up from the JV, got his first TD on varsity when he hooked up with sophomore QB Michael Marcovici (10 for 18, 180 yards) in the the first half. Sophomores Lucas Christie and Sebastian Garcia started at linebacker. All in all, six sophomores played key roles in the game and gained valuable experience for the future.
Brooklyn Tech takes on South Shore in the last home game of the season this Saturday on Halloween at noon. It will be the final home game for the Tech senior class and both players and parents will be honored before the game.
The following Thursday, Tech will be back at the Aviator Sports Complex to take on Midwood in the final regular season game.
