Tech Football hits the links for annual golf outing

IMG_7930 (1)    For the eighth time, the Brooklyn Tech Parents Football Club and the Adam J. Cirillo Scholarship Foundation hosted a day of golf for alumni and friends of the program. On Friday August the 5th, the weather could not have been better as 48 golfers descended upon The Marine Park Seaside Links. Players enjoyed a round of golf, lunch, and a sit down dinner complete with door prizes and raffle items.

The outing first took place in 2009, with 36 golfers playing at the LaTourette Golf Course on Staten Island.  With help from sponsors such as Ridgewood Savings Bank, Pennoni Engineering Services, Brooklyn Sporting Goods, BroadMic, and others, the outing has been very successful in raising money for the Adam J. Cirillo Scholarship and the football program.  The Adam J. Cirillo Scholarship is a $25,000 scholarship given each year to a deserving senior on the Brooklyn Tech Football team.

The golf outing has become one of the football program’s largest annual events, along with the Adam J. Cirillo Classic (this year on September 24th) and the annual football dinner (January 6th, 2017). The field of golfers included Tech alumni and football players from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and 00’s.  Raffle prizes included autographed footballs from Earl Christy, Boomer Esiason and Joe Namath.

Our next alumni event will be the All White Affair on August 19th at Amarachi Restaurant.
