John Hemminger (Tech 17) was named to the National Football Foundation (NYC Chapter) Elite 11 team for 2017.  He became the fifth person named to the select team since 2012.  John is waiting to hear from several Ivy league schools before making a college decision.  John was also selected to the Brooklyn 44 team and the Fugazzi Bowl select team.  In addition, he was also named All-Conference and All-Academic by the NYC Football Coaches Association.

The team is selected based on academics, leadership and football skill.  Since 2012, four other Brooklyn Tech football players have been named to the NFF’s prestigious team, they include Benjamin Haye (2013), Jeff Bunditwong (2014), Lawrence Menyah (2015), and Mahmoud Shabana (2016).  Eli Manning will be honored at this year’s dinner on April 6th at the New York Athletic Club.  John’s selection comes with a $1000 scholarship.
